the Chardonnay du Monde, a prestigious world wine competition, the Wine Cellar
Goriška Brda was again well received. At this year's 15th competition, which
took place from 12th to 15th March 2008, Chardonnay Bagueri 2005 was awarded
a bronze medal, surpassing the results of previous entrants by being presented
with one of the highest accolades for many years.
The international expert commission evaluated 953 samples from
39 countries.
The evaluation was carried out in compliance with the rigourous rules
of the International Office for Vine and Wine (OIV).
The award-winning
wine excels due to its unmistakeable qualities such as the mineral
print which renders it characteristic of the terroir of
Brda. Its odour reflects a wide range mature fruit aromas,
vanilla, hazelnut and spices. The flavour enthuses with its complexity
and its long velvet
taste. The Chardonnay Bagueri is the perfect accompaniment for food
with strong flavours. It is also an excellent choice for those wine
connoisseurs,
who like to take their time over wine, uncovering its mysteries from slow
gulps.

REBULA Quercus Rebula Quercus is a premium wine of a pleasing, moderately full taste, with enjoyable acidity which provides the wine with characteristic freshness. Its varietal aroma, reminiscent of lemon, green apple, cedar wood, grapefruit, is rounded off by the soft aroma of acacia.
